Local Author Services

Partner with Novel Tea Book Shop

At Novel Tea Book Shop, we believe local stories matter. Through our Local Author Partnership Program, we strive to connect Florida authors with our community of readers through thoughtfully curated opportunities designed to celebrate creativity and foster meaningful connections.

Whether you're interested in having your books available in our shop, participating in a community event, or sharing your work through a book signing, we'd love to learn more about you and your stories.

Who Can Apply?

We welcome applications from Florida-based self-published and small-press authors. If your books are published through a large traditional publisher, please let us know in your application so we can explore wholesale ordering options through our existing distribution channels.

At Novel Tea Book Shop, we value the creativity, craftsmanship, and unique voices of the authors and artists we feature. As part of our commitment to supporting human-created work, we do not accept books featuring AI-generated cover art or illustrations as part of our Local Author Partnership Program. Applicants will be asked to provide the name of their cover artist during the review process.

How It Works

1. Submit an Application

Complete our Local Author Application to introduce yourself, your books, and the opportunities you're interested in pursuing.

2. Review Process

Our team carefully reviews each submission to determine the best fit based on our programming calendar, available opportunities, audience interests, and the overall alignment with our community.

3. Connect

Depending on the outcome of your application, you may be invited to participate in one or more of the following opportunities:

  • Local Author Consignment Program
  • Local Author Spotlight & Book Signings
  • Boozy Book Fair events
  • Future community programming and collaborations

Local Author Consignment Program

Approved consignment authors are invited to place up to three copies of a single title on our dedicated Local Authors Shelf.

  • Books must have a valid ISBN and barcode.
  • Consignment placements begin with a 30-day trial period.
  • Successful placements may be extended based on sales performance and available space.
  • Unsold books should be retrieved promptly at the end of the consignment period or may be donated after 14 days if other arrangements have not been made.

Payment Information

Authors participating in our consignment program receive 60% of the retail price for each book sold.

To streamline payouts and provide a more professional experience, all payments are processed through QuickBooks Direct Deposit. Approved authors will receive instructions for securely setting up their payment information.

What Happens Next?

Submitting an application does not guarantee placement on our shelves or participation in an event. However, it allows us to consider you for a variety of opportunities within our growing local author program.

You will receive an email once your application has been reviewed. Depending on the outcome, you may be invited to schedule a book signing, participate in an upcoming event, join our consignment program, remain on our list for future opportunities, or be notified that we are unable to move forward at this time.

We appreciate the trust it takes to share your work with us and are honored that you have considered Novel Tea Book Shop as a potential partner.
