Book Review: Verity by Colleen Hoover

Book Review: Verity by Colleen Hoover

Title: Verity

Author: Colleen Hoover

Genre: Thriller/Romance

Date Read: January 2023 (second reading)

Description: Lowen Ashleigh is commissioned by Jeremy Crawford to help finish a best selling series of his wife, the famous author Verity Crawford.  Several family tragedies have left her injured and unable to write, as she remains comatose in her bed. While Lowen, struggling financially, moves into the Crawford home goes to start her research, she finds some very personal autobiographical notes written by Verity that make Lowen start to wonder if the recent tragedies were accidents at all.

Review: While I felt the overall plot was interesting and kept you guessing, it was often uncomfortable to read.  I know Hoover does not want to add trigger warnings to her books; however, I think its important to know that this book contains potential child abuse, neglect and endangerment.  I know I'm late in my review of this book, but I think its a good, quick read if you're looking for something to fill a good sick or rainy day.  So, grab a cup of some yummy tea and hold on for a wild ride.

Rating: 4 out of 5 cups of tea - maybe with some peppercorn for the added spice!
